This is the original Pepto-Bismol bottle, and has the text 'Norwich' embossed on all three sides. Norwich Pharmaceuticals began producing an earlier version of Pepto Bismol in 1901.
Text on bottom of bottle: 'P' in a circle in one corner, the number 7 in one corner, the number 61 in one corner.
The 'P' in a circle is Pierce Glass Company's logo mark, and the number '61' likely indicates that the bottle was manufactured in the year 1961.
Thanks for putting together this helpful page! I found the same bottle (1961) but a number 4 in place of 7. The bottle was in a trash pit we are removing from a cobstruction site in Acworth, GA. The bottle looked cool so I picked it up but I had no idea that people were as interested in antique bottles.
ReplyDeleteIf i were u...i'd see if could find any more jars. Currently looking at the same bottle; different numbers though. I did find out the 4 means it's likely from 1940's (1940-1947)
DeleteB in circle in center of bottom; is for Brockway Glass Company..right? 4 is located on bottom; the 1940's, correct? It also has 1037
Delete1037 this # said something possible about WV. Would like to know if that's correct information.& if so, what's the $value of bottle?
DeleteI have this bottle B with a circle 13 4 1785
DeleteAny ideas when it was made
I found a Norwich bottle in the woods with the same triangular description but different numbers and letter. The letter 'B' is in a circle in the center art the bottom. An '8' is in one corner and an 'X' is in one corner. I'm 15 and I love antique bottles!
ReplyDeleteThe "B" in a circle probably stands for Brockway Glass (1907-1988). Happy hunting :)
DeleteWhat's the value of the bottle
DeleteMy daughter found one of these bottles with a B on the bottom of it in the number 1750 and a 10 on the bottom and a 0 on the side what is this bottle worth today it's still an excellent condition
DeleteI love antique bottles, I just found 20 in an old 19s dump and I found one of those bottles but it has a 1337 on the bottom, b in the little, and a # 6 on the bottom bottom
DeleteI found the triangular one as well.
ReplyDeleteMine has the B in a circle a 0 to the left puff the N and an I, l, or 1 below the B and 1785 above the B .
I have a triangular one also. You have to hold the triangle upside down while looking at the bottom in order to read the numbers and letters. There is a B with a circle around it in the middle. Above the Circle B is the number 2621. To the left of the circle B is a 0. Below the Circled B is the number 5.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I uncovered a triangular clear glass bottle from a creek bank on a recent kayaking/camping trip we took. The water was unusually low. We dug it out of the mud in a spring that feeds into the creek. In the top row, it has a 3, a symbol that resembles a vase, then 65. Bottom number is 6. We are extremely curious about this found treasure...
ReplyDeleteLast comment was mine (creek bank treasure). Too quick on the draw I suppose. Contact me with any info. Cchatterton78@gmail.com

DeleteYou should also see the letter I in the center of the diamond
