Heinz Ketchup Bottle - [Owens-Illinois Glass Co.]

The week of ketchup/ catsup continues!  I seem to trip over these bottles more often than any other.  This one is one of the more common ketchup bottles you'll see.

Base embossment shows the letter 'I' in an oval shape, with the number 15 to its left, 6 to its right, and 12 underneath.  "Duraglas" is embossed in script below the 12, and finally, the text "E-2336" is embossed at the very bottom.

According to the Owens-Illinois method of bottle identification, this bottle was produced at their Waco, Texas glass bottle factory.  We may also deduce the year it was manufactured after taking into account the fact that the company's trademark is the more modern 'I' inside an oval (and doesn't include the diamond shape that overlaps the oval in older versions of the mark, which indicates that this bottle was made after the trademark change began taking effect in 1954.  Also, the "Duraglas" logo only began appearing on Owens-Illinois bottles following the year 1940.
As the dating scheme for the bottles essentially remained the same throughout the trademark change, it seems that this bottle was manufactured in the year 1956.
