Small Oval Bottle [Owens-Illinois}

This is a wide-mouth, small oval colorless glass bottle, most likely used to hold pills or ink (see "Round Ink" catalog photo below).

The shoulder has three wide-banded horizontal ribs.

The embossment on the base shows the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. "diamond IO" trademark, indicating that this bottle was manufactured pre-1954.

The number 7 found directly to the left of the mark tells us that this bottle was made at the Alton, Illinois plant.
The number 0 followed by a period (difficult to see in the picture) to the diamond IO's right tells us that the bottle was made in the year 1950.  Even if we could not make out the period following the 0, we would know that this bottle was made at least on or after 1940 due to the stippling on the base.
