Sanford's Ink Bottle

Here is a cute amethyst-tinted cylindrical ink bottle from Sanford's Manufacturing Company (later changed to Sanford's Ink Company), found off the Kansas River near Lawrence, Kansas [Figure 1].

Because it's tinted this purple-ish color, we can assume that a) originally, the bottle was colorless, and b) the bottle was manufactured sometime between the mid-1880s to the late-1910s (click the link from the previous sentence for additional info on this colorization).

This ink bottle has a "bead" finish, and lots of bubbles and waves in the glass.  It once had a paper label.

After perusing a (vast) number of ink bottle photos, I have come to the conclusion that this particular ink bottle most closely matches Sanford's Red Ink's bottle.

The base of the bottle [Figure 2] is embossed (lightly) with the company name, SANDER'S.

Note the vertical mold seam [Figure 3]; it appears to extend through the finish.

There is also a horizontal mold seam at the top of the shoulder [Figure 4].
