This clear glass embossed 10-oz. Pepsi-Cola bottle isn't terribly old--the oldest Pepsi-Cola bottles were made with opaque glass and the logo had a "double dot" between the words 'Pepsi' and 'Cola'. To learn more, I talk about dating Pepsi-Cola bottles here.
On one side, the embossed text on the body of this bottle reads: "PEPSI" (with a small registered symbol beneath the 2nd 'P') and "10 FL. OZ." right under the Pepsi logo.
On the other side, the embossed text reads: "PEPSI-COLA" (with a small registered symbol beneath the 'P' and 'S'), and "10 FL. OZ." under the Pepsi-Cola logo.
Towards the bottom of the bottle, on one side, "NO REFILL" is embossed. On the opposite side, "DISPOSE OF PROPERLY" can be seen.
This logo on the base of the bottle belongs to Brockway Glass Company (1907-1988).
Following the plant code number diagram below, the mold number of the bottle is 9108-A, the plant number is 3--Muskogee, Oklahoma, the cavity number (what's a cavity number?) is 15, and the birth-year of this lovely bottle was 1977. I have the same bottle in this posting except the bottom is nothing like it. I'm trying to date the bottle. On the bottom of the bottle, in a north-south-east-west configuration are the following: North=L, East=1395, South=79, West=54. There is no manufacturer's mark, only the numbers indicated. Any assistance you could offer would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI just found this bottle at my grandparents when construction was digging near their house. Just like the woman above said, everything is the same except for the bottom.
ReplyDeleteProbably the most commonly encountered bottle on historic sites with a mouth-blown and tooled. RS Glass Bottle

ReplyDeletethe top of the left branch was painted pink using this process - you can see the light inside it shining through the paint. This bottle tree had lights running inside the bottles to light the bottles up at night. ........empty 750ml glass bottles,http://rsglassbottle.com/product-detail/750ml-empty-glass-bottles/........
ReplyDeleteHow much is it worth
ReplyDeleteMine is made by Glenshaw Glass in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Has the G in a square which is their mold mark. Has 71 next to it which im assuming is year. Then from left to right below that has 42 large numerals, a dot, then 3215. Is the 2 in 42 for Glenshaw glass and the above table is meant to say Glenshaw, PA and not Crenshaw, PA. Glenshaw Glass is still in business and well know in Pittsburgh and the G in square mold marking.
