Hemingray No. 40 Blue-Green Glass Insulator

This style of glass insulator was mass produced from 1910-1921 for an experiment with AT&T to produce a new standard insulator.  Called the Hemingray No. 40 (which is embossed on the body), this insulator's main usage was for telegraphs, and had a voltage rating of 5,000 volts.  The color shown here on the one we found is the very typical blue-green (or aqua) glass used for this particular insulator model.
